Why you should choose Table View as your Cape Town area of choice!

Hello and welcome to Table View, Cape Town, South Africa.

Table View gained its name due to its perfect postcard view of Table Mountain with the area itself widely associated with its fellow neighbouring suburbs Blouberg and Big Bay. Table View is well-known for its incredible sunsets and picturesque views of Robben Island and Table Mountain. Continue reading to find out just why Table View is the place to be in Cape Town and why you should book your stay in Table View on your next Cape Town holiday.

Reason #1: Convenience

Table View is conveniently located a mere 25-minute drive from the Cape Town city centre and is fully connected via the MyCiti Bus Service making it easy to get around without your own car. You can head out on the local bus service at affordable rates and explore the city. The MyCiti bus service runs throughout the West Coast suburbs, City Centre and along the Atlantic Seaboard. Popular attractions are not located too far away with Canal Walk being 11km’s away, and the V&A Waterfront only 20km’s away. Uber drivers are found throughout Cape Town, and are easily accessible in Table View with the Uber app.

Reason #2: Beautiful Beaches

Table View and Bloubergstrand is home to arguably Cape Town’s best stretch of beach spanning numerous meters while following onto Big Bay and Melkbosstrand beach. There are ample parking bays to use to safely park your car, with lots of ice cream stalls pitched up along the way. Sea Breeze is our favourite ice cream store to visit, a conveniently located corner store situated next to the ever-popular beach bar, Pokalolo.

Reason #3: Ocean Activities

If you are an avid surfer then Table View is the only choice for you! Table View beachfront is a surfing mecca with all types of surfers taking advantage of the swell that the ocean brings. Red Bull King of the Air is hosted each year along the Table View beachfront, and kite surfers can be found every weekend along Kite Beach giving onlookers a beautiful sky full of colours. Swimming is permitted along the various beaches with Big Bay beach having life guard teams on duty during the day to ensure your safety.

Reason #4: Abundance of foodie favourites

Table View has many restaurants to choose from, making it the ideal dinning out location. No matter what your choice of menu or budget, there is something for everyone. A popular choice for Table View visitors is New Café, Jerry’s Burger Bar, Catch 22, or Primi located along the beachfront. All of these restaurants have beautiful views of the ocean and Table Mountain.
If you want to enjoy a great vibe amongst the locals, then Doodles is the choice for you. Doodles offers you a wide selection of food, drinks and desserts. Be sure to try their California Pizza if you are a lover of Avo, Bacon and Feta.
Table View recently became home to the latest RocoMamas Restaurant and they have not disappointed us in the slightest. Be sure to grab the best cheesy fries when visiting RocoMamas during your stay in Table View.
For a more formal dinning experience, try Homespun by Matt. This quaint restaurant located in Porterfield Road, is a rustic fine dinning experience unlike no other. The owner, Matt, loves to make an appearance and ensures that all patrons are receiving the absolute best care and most divine food. Homespun by Matt has received endless rave reviews with a very well-priced menu that is guaranteed to blow your mind!

Reason #5: Incredible Views

Table View has the perfect stretch of beach to gaze upon the incredible view of Table Mountain in all her glory from across the ocean. Be sure to grab some Instagram worthy shots of yourself with Table Mountain in the background – yet another reason to choose this perfect suburb for your Cape Town stay. The perfect sunset views can be viewed from Blouberg Beach with the reflection of the sunset glistening onto the ripples of the striking blue ocean.  If you would like to take in the views of the city while enjoying some refreshments, grab a cocktail at the popular Blue Peter Restaurant as you sit along the grass picnic area, or head to Boardhouse and enjoy the surf style bar. There is always a good vibe in Table View, day or night, rain or shine.

Reason #6: Shopping is made easy in Table View

There are ample shopping centres in the area with each one offering you various shops and restaurants. There are two large malls located within 5kms from one another. Table Bay Mall, found easily along the R27, is a modern state of the art mall which has been operating for just over a year. The second is Bayside Mall which is located just off Blaauwberg Road and has been a staple of the area for many years. There are many grocery shops located in and around Table View, as well as specialist boutiques and local stores.

Reason #7: Real rest and relaxation

Table View is always buzzing but it is not overcrowded! A huge issue that many tourists have is the constant hordes of people everywhere which prevent you from really taking in the beauty of this wonderful city. In Table View you will have a much more relaxed time while really getting to experience the beauty of the Mother City.

Reason #8: Good Vibes
