Hello, and Welcome to Cape Town
Welcome to
Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa that oozes rich cultural heritage,
history, and breath-taking scenery. Cape Town has so much to offer a visitor,
with it being the second-most populated area of South Africa and earning the 2015-16
“Best City” award at the Telegraph Travel Awards for the fourth consecutive year,
it really is a must visit for any tourist.
Cape Town was
founded in 1652 by Jan Van Riebeeck – that is over 365 years of rich history
all stemming from the Dutch East India Company’s decision to create a stopping
station for their ships that travelled between the Dutch East Indies and the
Fort de Goede Hoop, which was replaced by the Castle of Good Hope later.
So, what
makes Cape Town so special? Cape Town has evolved into a top leading city that
has well-developed infrastructure and the city has expanded to such an extent
that the area is now reaching 400.28 kilometres square. The Mother City has
ideal weather with a Mediterranean climate that results in warm long summer
days and mild, wet winters. Cape Town’s list of accolades speaks volumes about
the calibre and standards that the city upholds. Cape Town was recently
featured on the 2017 “Go List” by Fodor’s, and was voted as 2016’s “number one
food city in the world” by Condé Nast’s Reader’s Choice Awards. Did you know
that the first city outside of Europe that received Blue Flag beach status was Cape
Town?
Cape Town
boasts beautiful scenery and an abundance of activities that will keep you busy
throughout your entire stay. There is never a dull moment in Cape Town, come rain
